VILLAGE MATTERS (News & What's on)
21.4.2016 - After careful consideration the Parish Council has decided to take the planning applications on Moores Lane and Hadleigh Road to Judicial Review. Babergh’s unwillingness to listen to the views of the people of East Bergholt left us with no alternative.
An Inspector has been appointed and the Neighbourhood Plan, supporting documents and consultation comments are with them now. The Inspector will send a report which we wait to see. The NP referendum is getting closer! OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN BEING MADE IS EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IN LIGHT OF THE APPROVAL OF THE 154 HOUSES TO PREVENT BABERGH FROM APPROVING MORE LARGE HOUSING NUMBERS OR INAPPROPRIATE SITES. Parish Clerk (01206 298692).
MOORES LANE & HADLEIGH ROAD PLANNING APPLICATIONS
Both developments were approved at the Babergh District Council Planning Committee on 23 March 2016. Our thanks to those of you who attended in support of the PC's refusal recommendation. The Parish Council in January requested the Secretary of State (SoS) to 'call-in' the Moores Lane application on the basis of our Neighbourhood Plan. The SoS decided not to call in the Moores Lane application and refused to consider Hadleigh Road. As a result the Parish Council has now to consider its position.
