The current Parish Council Councillor’s four-year term of office
ends in May this year. Formal “Notices of Election” will be
displayed on Council’s notice boards at East End and outside
Griers after 23 March 2015.
In the meantime, all eligible parishioners, i.e. those included on
the register of electors, why not consider putting your name
forward for election to one of the thirteen Parish Council seats.
The Parish Council meets on the second Thursday of each month
and is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of footpaths,
burial grounds and playing fields, and working to ensure the
village develops in the way our community would like.
Working to maintain East Bergholt as a rural village and a
pleasant place to live is worthwhile and rewarding. It cannot be
achieved without input and effort of Parishioners. Please give
this some thought and if you would like a nomination form or
require more information contact Valerie Ayton the Parish Clerk.
The Parish Council would like to advise you that due to new budget requirements for the financial year commencing 1 April 2015, the Parish Council precept included in your Council Tax bill will be increased by 41.60%. This translates to an increase in the Parish Council element of £26.34 for the year, i.e. 50p per week, on a Band D property.
The reasons for this increase are four-fold:
The Parish Council would like to thank you the parishioners in anticipation of your support of the increase on this occasion, and assures you that it will always work for the parishes’ best interests and to keep the precept as low as possible.
Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer
